About Us

House of Children Africa, Incorporated (HOCAI) envisions a world where all children have equal access to the healthcare, education, and the financial resources needed to become healthy, happy adults that are able to take care of their families and be a positive force in the community.  We feel that only through the nurturing of our children in this way can we have hope for the future of this world.

Get connected and be updated  about the great things being done by HOCAI teams, volunteer needs and how you can help.

The children must, at last, play in the open veld, no longer tortured by the pangs of hunger or ravaged by the disease or threatened with the scourge of ignorance, molestation and abuse, and no longer required to engage in deeds whose gravity exceeds the demands of their tender years.

MEET CHAIB AND LEARN WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP THIS CHILD IN NEED.

Chaib's Story

Living With Pain At Seven

Chaib lives in Abidjan, the capital of Ivory Coast.  He is seven years old and has a severe leg deformity called blount knee disease that limits his movement and keeps him in constant pain.   In spite of that, he is full of joy, passionate about attending school, looks forward to playing soccer, and wants to be a principle when he grows up.

Chaib is in the 4th grade and his school is in Marcory, some two miles away.  Everyday Chaib and his mother make the trip to and from school.  His mother has to carry him on her back because his deformity makes it too painful for him to walk.  In the evening, his mother has to rub his painful legs and give him pain medicine to help him sleep at night.

There is an opportunity for Chaib to have his deformity fixed by a surgeon in Bonoua, some 50 miles away.  This will require transportation, accomodationssurgical and rehabilitation feesThe prognosis looks good, but the finances do not.

The House of Children Africa, Inc. is working with the family to try and raise funds for little Chaib so that he can one day walk without pain, play soccer and continue to be an inspiration.  We ask that you find it in your heart to help little Chaib by giving and changing the life of a child.
